About the Artist

Mala is an artist whose diverse work explores the delicate intersections between human expression, cultural identity, and emotional depth. With a foundation in fine art and international study experiences that broadened her artistic vision, Mala's mixed-media paintings and drawings invite viewers into intimate narratives that celebrate life's rich moments and hidden complexities.

Her background as a breast imaging radiologist uniquely informs her approach, lending a nuanced appreciation of form, detail, and the subtle interplay of light and shadow. Mala's subjects range from poignant portrayals of breast cancer patients to vibrant depictions of Indian dancers and lively scenes of children at play—all reflecting her profound influences from motherhood, medicine, and her Indian heritage.

Mala’s works have been exhibited publicly, gaining recognition for their sensitivity, depth, and ability to forge meaningful connections with viewers. Through her art, she seeks not only to capture authentic human experiences but also to encourage reflection, empathy, and dialogue.

Mala currently lives and creates in New Jersey, continually exploring new themes and mediums to express the evolving complexities of the human experience.
